Hi Cleo's Corner Owner,

I found your site on Google with "parrot catnip" search words.

Tonight, my wife was removing the stalks from catnip she had harvested a few
weeks ago. The kitchen, where our Blue Front Amazon's cage is, had a strong
smell of catnip as she toiled away. I noticed our bird laying down on her
perch with one leg dangling to the side. She looked like she was falling
asleep and would fall off. My wife discontinued her catnip cleaning while I
took the bird outside for some fresh air. The bird looked confused and
still was dangling her foot and clenching it. We opened the front door and
spread a towel on the couch for the bird to sit on. I picked up the bird
and she flew off my hand twice, one time landing hard on the floor. After a
while, she seemed to get her bearings back a little and walked back into the
kitche and climbed her cage, her foot not bothering her at all. When she
got to the top, she stood there looking around as if she was checking out
some new place.

We were very concerned that she was succumbing to some illness and we would
need to make an emergency visit to the vet.

It's been about 30 minutes now, and she appears to have come down from her
high.

Please let me know if you have heard from anyone else on this topic. I have
been unable to find any info on the net.

Thanks,
